Payments & refunds.

TAKEOVER uses Stripe to process card payments for spot takeovers, multi-spot purchases, full-page takeovers, and defenses.

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2026CARD DETAILS HANDLED BY STRIPE

1. When you are charged

Before Stripe Checkout opens, TAKEOVER validates your selected spots and the levels you entered. Checkout shows the total amount to be charged. By completing Checkout, you authorize that charge for the advertising placement described.

TAKEOVER does not intentionally store full card numbers or card security codes in its application database. Stripe handles the payment interface and payment credentials.

2. Being outbid is not a refund event

A takeover is a completed advertising purchase, not a refundable deposit. If you successfully take a spot and another advertiser later pays more to take that spot from you, your earlier payment is ordinarily final. The time you controlled the spot may be short or long; TAKEOVER does not guarantee a minimum duration.

3. Stale Checkout protection

Another advertiser may change the board while you are completing Stripe Checkout. After Stripe reports a successful payment, TAKEOVER checks the affected spots again using a locked server-side transaction.

If the paid levels can no longer claim the entire quoted territory, TAKEOVER does not partially assign the purchase. The attempt is marked stale and TAKEOVER attempts to refund that payment automatically through Stripe.

Card-network timing can cause a refund to appear as a reversal or as a separate refund after the original charge. Your bank controls final posting times.

4. Defending your own spot

When you raise the level of a spot you already own, Checkout charges only the displayed difference between the existing level and the new level. That payment raises the spot's takeover requirement but does not guarantee any minimum additional display time.

5. Other refunds

Refunds may also be issued for duplicate charges, material technical errors, transactions TAKEOVER cannot fulfill because of its own error, or other circumstances where a refund is required by law or approved by TAKEOVER.

Advertisements removed because of fraud, malicious content, impersonation, infringement, prohibited goods or services, or another intentional policy violation may be ineligible for refund to the extent permitted by law.

TAKEOVER does not promise refunds simply because an advertisement receives fewer clicks, visits, impressions, leads, or sales than expected.

6. Taxes and processing

Any applicable taxes or other required charges may be collected where required. Payment availability, card acceptance, refunds, and dispute handling are also subject to Stripe and card-network rules.

7. Payment questions and disputes

If a payment appears incorrect, contact TAKEOVER support with the email used for the purchase, approximate time, company name, and affected spot numbers. Do not send full card numbers or passwords.

Contacting support does not remove any rights you may have through your card issuer or applicable law, but giving TAKEOVER an opportunity to review the server and payment records can often resolve an issue faster.
